Dr. Hirshfeld-Cytron is an ob-gyn as well as a reproductive endocrinology and infertility expert at Fertility Centers of Illinois and a member of the our site Medical Advisory Board. She has been practicing medicine since 2004. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Chicago, followed by a three-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Northwestern University.

Dr. Hirshfeld-Cytron's professional interests include fertility preservation, specifically for women receiving medical treatment which could impair ovarian function as well as for women who choose to delay fertility for personal reasons. She has published widely in the areas of fertility preservation and cost analysis of fertility therapies.

Dr. Hirshfeld-Cytron's personal practice philosophy stems not only from her clinical expertise, but also from her experience as a woman and a mother. She understands the importance of individualized, comprehensive infertility care.
